Treatment Protocols with Onnetsu Mattresses
Onnetsu Far Infrared Mattress Protocol – General
The mattress is a powerful therapeutic tool, and as such, please be sure to listen to your body when choosing temperatures and duration of use.
The mattress should not be used in the following cases: pregnancy, surgeries that have not yet healed, open wounds, and very weak people who may be further weakened by heat. People with silicone implants can use the mattress but not lay down directly on the implant. The mattress heats water molecules, so there is no problem with plastic implants, metals, etc
After purchase, please contact the website to receive a personalized protocol. The protocol is tailored to the reason for purchase, the patient’s age, and the clinical condition. There are situations in which the mattress is not suitable.
Activating the 7 Crystals, Clay and Rainbow Mattresses:

Select a time of 4-8-12 hours and select a temperature using the dial. After selection, the display will show the room temperature and gradually increase.
Activating the Tourmaline Ball Mattress:
Turn on the central button and use the other buttons to select the desired temperature and duration of use. The mattress will begin to heat after changing the time or temperature. After selection, the display will show the room temperature and gradually increase.
Activating a Flexible Silver Amethyst Mattress:
Turn on with the click button, turn the temperature knob, and after selection, the display will show the room temperature and gradually increase. (A covered mattress heats up faster) The mattresses come with a 6-hour timer.
Personal Use Protocol
The mattress should be covered with a cotton sheet and a blanket when in use and should not be near an air conditioner. The same frequency should be maintained in winter and summer.
It is recommended to stay on it wearing thin cotton clothing or naked.
To make it softer and more comfortable, it is recommended to place a mattress protector over the Onnetsu mattress and a fitted sheet over both.
It is recommended at the beginning of treatments to use the mat from between half an hour to two hours during the day only, lying on your back, stomach, and sitting.
After two weeks of daily use and your body’s adaptation, you can sleep on it during the night. Turn it on to 50 degrees about an hour before bed and adjust to the sleep temperature of 37 to 42 degrees, gradually over time, when you get into bed.
Do not sleep at high temperatures, the heat will be exhausting and will not aid in healing. High temperatures are suitable for treatments during the day. If sweating begins, reduce by a degree or two and always above body temperature.
It takes time for the cold, toxin-rich body to cleanse itself, dilate blood vessels, and improve blood quality, and it takes a lot of patience and perseverance until the body and the heat become almost one.
For adults, during the day it is recommended to use a temperature ranging from 45 to 65 and when sweating begins, it should be reduced by up to two degrees. For children up to ten years of age, it is recommended to use a range of 40-50 degrees during the day.
I recommend that adults over the age of 20 do a detox treatment once a week: Place a towel on the mattress, lie down at a temperature of 60-65 degrees, cover yourself with a blanket and sweat for about half an hour to detoxify, like a sauna treatment.
Expect “signs of healing” at the beginning of use, such as weakness, a buildup of toxicity on the skin, various discharges, headaches, excessive sweating, etc. All of these will pass after persistence, usually within about two weeks.
The heat continues to “work” in the body for 6-8 hours, so it is recommended to eat hot food, drink hot drinks, and avoid sports and showering after staying on the mattress.
It is recommended to drink at least one glass of water before and after lying on the Onnetsu mattress.
Guidelines for Clinicians:
It is recommended to use the mattresses during all seasons and with all treatments and patients for whom the mattresses are suitable. The mattresses will improve the intensity of the treatment and the rate of improvement.
They are suitable for touch therapists, orthopedists, physiotherapists, doctors, Chinese and Japanese medicine practitioners, energy or conversation therapists, and more.
On cold days or when there is air conditioning nearby, it is recommended to cover the mattress and cover the patient to maintain temperatures.
The heat continues to “work” in the body for 6-8 hours, so it is recommended that hot food, hot drinks, and avoiding sports and showers be consumed for six to eight hours after the treatment. If a patient becomes cold, the treatment will “break” but no harm will be done.
There is no time limit for their use, but they must be used sensitively so as not to exhaust the patient.
The heat is amazing for excess and deficiency conditions, for cold and heat conditions including simulated heat, excellent for improving regeneration and removing waste at the same time. The mattress improves blood production and strengthening in a wonderful way, helps thicken and improve the elasticity of blood vessels, improves blood flow and is excellent for almost all pathologies and clinical conditions.
For healthy patients, it is recommended to start with 42 degrees in the clinic and increase gradually, usually no more than 60 degrees for the duration of the treatment. It is recommended to choose an approximate temperature and increase or decrease depending on the patient’s response.
When treating adults, sick people, and patients with colds, one should start at 39-40 degrees and gradually increase to about 50.
When treating cancer patients, the temperature should be raised to the maximum that the patient can tolerate and to a temperature before the point of sweating (sweating cools).
Patients change constitution within several treatments, so it is recommended to diagnose before each treatment and feel the patient’s temperature in order to accurately determine the treatment temperature of the mattress. Occasionally it is recommended to put a hand under the patient to feel if he is not sweating.
When a patient comes in with acute pain, you can start with intense heat (50-60) for a few minutes and reduce to 42-45.
For patients who need softness, a towel can be added on top, which does not impair the quality of the treatment and also slightly reduces the feeling of heat.
Signs of healing – hyperthermic mattresses are very powerful and welcome signs of healing may appear, such as: worsening of existing pain, worsening of numbness, nausea, dizziness, headaches, worsening of hot flashes, excessive sweating, etc. You should continue with the heat treatments until the symptoms subside.
